PURE
What is purity in nature? Is it perfection?
I feel it more about clarity.
Seeds arrange themselves seemingly without instruction. The same patterns appear again and again and again at different scales, without seeming to aim for a result.
Pure uses pencils in repetition. Pencils are tools of art and knowledge which extend from the natural world. Seeds of a flower head are symbolised through pencils, revealing the clear rules that shape life.
The making is slow, repetitive. Small actions repeated over time. At some point, the repetition stops feeling like something I’ve chosen and starts to feel like something I’m inside of. At that point, repetition shifts – from making into pressure. That shift is physical as much as it is mental. Pure sits in that space.
